History
Giovanni Pastrami is a brand new creation that is a combination of three existing successful Waikiki restaurant concepts. Owners Robert and Suzan Bach opened Round Table Pizza in 1995 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and have served more than two million guests the Island’s freshest and tastiest pizza. In 2003, the Bachs opened Round Table Pizza and Sports Bar at the Ohana East Hotel, Waikiki’s only sports bar, and CJ’s New York Style Deli at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, Waikiki’s only New York Style Deli. The success of these three establishments relate to a customer’s combined thirst for both fun and food. Hence, Giovanni Pastrami, a New York Style Deli, Pizzeria, and Sports Bar.
Design
The restaurant design is unique and visionary from floor to ceiling:
- Italian beveled glass columns rise from the Peruvian-tiled floors to the high, open coffer ceilings
- African wood wallpaper and designer faux-rock line the walls
- Beautiful concrete bar and hostess stands are poured in place, inset with original ingots
- Seventeen 42’’ and 50’’ wood-framed plasma
televisions complete the interior design and
enhance the dining experience
